Good to know
Safety stock
Extra stock for bad days: (most daily use × longest lead time) − (average daily use × average lead time).
Reorder point
When stock falls to average daily use × average lead time + safety stock, place the next order.
EOQ
Economic order quantity = √(2 × yearly demand × order cost ÷ holding cost). It balances ordering often against holding too much.
Review monthly
Use real usage from the last 3 months and update fast-moving items more often.
