How to use it

  1. Enter employees, monthly cost and how many people left last year.
  2. Add hours spent on manual HR work and any missed filings.
  3. See the yearly cost of HR gaps and the first fix to make.

Good to know

Why this matters

In a small company, every person who leaves, every hour spent on spreadsheets and every missed filing comes straight out of profit. HR is how an owner protects that money.

How it is worked out

Turnover = people who left × monthly cost × months to replace. Manual work = hours a week × 52 × hourly cost. Compliance = misses × penalty. Unclear goals = people without goals × yearly cost × output lost.

Treat it as a floor

Customer loss, manager time and team morale are not counted, so the real cost is usually higher. Change any number to match your business.

What to fix first

Fix the biggest bar first. Often that is turnover: clear goals, fair reviews and on-time pay keep good people longer.

Questions people ask

Is it free? Do I need to sign up?

Yes, it is free and you do not need to sign up. Open it and use it as often as you like.

Is my data safe?

The numbers are worked out in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to USR unless you choose to email yourself the result.

How accurate is the result?

It is an estimate based on the rules shown on this page as of November 2026, not legal or tax advice. Rules and rates change, so check with your CA before you act.

Is this an exact number?

No. It is an estimate from your inputs and editable assumptions. Treat it as a floor, because morale and lost customers are not counted.

What should I fix first?

The biggest bar. The tool names it and links to the free tool or app that helps.

Turn HR from a cost into an advantage

USR One brings HRMS, attendance, payroll (add-on, India, by invitation) and USR PMS onto one employee record, so the gaps above shrink every month.
