Good to know
Pick the structure early
Most GCCs use a wholly owned subsidiary. Changing the structure later is slow and costly, so decide with your advisers before you hire.
Register before you hire
PF, ESI, shops and establishment, professional tax and GST (with a letter of undertaking for exports) should be ready before the first salary.
Price the service to HQ
Most GCCs bill HQ at cost plus a mark-up. Agree the method with your tax adviser and keep the documents for the yearly transfer pricing report.
Report the money in
Foreign investment into the company must be reported to the RBI on time, and a yearly foreign liabilities and assets return is due by 15 July.
Run your GCC on one platform from day one
USR One runs your India centre on one login: hiring, people, payroll, compliance, cost centres and reports to HQ. USR One Complete from ₹249 ($12) per employee a month.
